Sugaring might promise easy money, gifts and travel—but it’s actually one of the fastest growing on-ramps to sex trafficking. And our Social Data Intelligence team uncovered a world where wealthy exploiters use social media to aggressively groom youth for this very reason. Leveraging API & AI tech, we built an app that intercepts exploiters and victims by directly hijacking conversations on Twitter. While our true goal was to save just one youth from sugaring, we successfully intercepted 10,750 conversations, de-platformed 23 exploiters and removed 1,798 posts from Twitter.
