    IMAX Activation at SXSW promotes documentary | Mistress

    To promote the release of IMAX's latest feature documentary A BEAUTIFUL PLANET, we created an immersive three-dimensional, panoramic photo experience that allowed SXSW festival-goers to float above our beautiful planet. By setting up an arc of 15 coordinated cameras around a giant green screen, we were able to generate swooping, panoramic space videos perfect for sharing on social. Over the course of the activation, hundreds of movie lovers lined up for their chance to create and share a video of their own. Once an individual had their photo taken, they were directed to a kiosk where a custom iPad app prompted them to find their photo and choose from one of three epic space backgrounds that evoked visuals from A Beautiful Planet. Ultimately, they were emailed the video along with a thank you note, a call to action to share the video, and information on how and when to experience A Beautiful Planet in IMAX.
