When the founders of Once Upon A Coconut approached Canopy, they had a vision: to create a premium coconut water brand that blended quality, adventure, and purpose. They needed a brand that could stand out in a crowded category while appealing to today’s health-conscious, experience-driven consumers.

Canopy led the charge from the ground up — starting with strategic positioning to clearly define the brand’s DNA. We built a story-first narrative that transported consumers to a place of hydration, vitality, and imagination, while emphasizing the product’s superior quality and social mission (donating 10% of profits to nonprofits).

From there, we crafted the brand name, identity, packaging, and visual system to feel playful yet premium, vibrant yet pure. Each element — from the whimsical logo to the color-driven flavor system — was designed to evoke escapism and positivity. The packaging itself became a key storytelling device: bold, shelf-popping, and emotionally resonant at first glance.

In addition, we developed core messaging pillars, designed retail and digital assets, and laid the foundation for brand partnerships and ambassador programs that would further fuel growth.

Today, Once Upon A Coconut is sold in thousands of stores nationwide (including Whole Foods and Amazon) and recognized as one of the fastest-growing coconut water brands in the U.S., with a loyal following of athletes, celebrities, and everyday adventurers.
