In partnership with Eater and Vox Media, Bastion Insights conducted a nationwide study surveying over 2,000 U.S. adults to explore how different generations are discovering, experiencing, and spending on dining in 2025. The findings, featured in Eater’s generational dining series, offer a detailed look at how different age groups discover, evaluate, and experience restaurants today. Gen Z is leading with digital discovery, with 72% trusting online recommendations when choosing where to eat. Meanwhile, Baby Boomers are more likely to prioritize comfort and value, with 90% naming those factors as their top considerations. These insights reflect the increasingly diverse ways consumers engage with food away from home.
