Along the way, he’s either launched or founded three highly successful agencies—consistently delivering measurably effective creative with metrics-exceeding results. Among his relevant travel category credentials: creative director/senior writer for Marriott Western US/Mexico, Radisson Seven Seas Cruises, Temptress Cruises, and the Little River Inn. Beyond that, he’s provided top tier advertising for clients ranging from General Motors brands and Audi, to Kaiser Permanente and Fireman’s Fund insurance, to Del Monte and Nabisco. Recently he served as the creative lead in the international rebranding of Hearst Corporation’s FDB Health-IT unit, rebranding Norcal Waste Systems as Recology, Inc., creating the highly effective “Imagine That” campaign for a consortium of national energy brands, and fun projects for Tsar Nicoulai Caviar, UbiSoft Entertainment, and Next Era’s breakthrough green energy programs. A winner of the Cannes Gold Lion and more than 200 other competitive honors in top international, national, regional, and local advertising competitions, Jef has been a frequent commentator on marketing and advertising for the San Francisco Chronicle, Ad Week, Ad Age, Media/Marketing Europe, KGO Radio, and many others.
President/GMDeborah is a veteran of major traditional and direct response advertising agencies. Starting in the 1980s, she pioneered non-traditional creative advertising models. In her early career, that resulted in unique successes for clients like Learning World, American Express, Harte Hanks, and the like. Since co-founding Brainchild, she’s been pivotal for clients ranging from PG&E and Flex Your Power, to Hearst Corporation and Sutter Health, to Tsar Nicoulai Caviar and the San Francisco 49ers. As president, Deborah has final responsibility for Brainchild operations including contracting, financial management, systems, and client accountability. A leader who brings a mixture of strategic insights and practical thinking to the mix, she is also a writer with several projects underway.
