About
Founded in Baltimore in 2014, Flywheel Digital was built on a single conviction: winning on Amazon was fundamentally a commerce problem, and solving it required owning the technology, the data, and the expertise under one roof. Co-founders Patrick Miller and Chip DiPaula saw the opportunity before the market did, and built Flywheel from the ground up into the commerce partner of choice for the world's leading CPG brands.
What began as a team of 70 in South Baltimore has grown into a global operation with 1,700+ employees across 32+ countries, trusted by more than half of the world's 100 largest CPG brands.
In 2018, Ascential PLC, a London-based data and eCommerce company, acquired Flywheel for up to $400 million, a recognition of Flywheel's unique position at the intersection of commerce and media. In early 2024, Omnicom completed its $835 million acquisition of Flywheel, its largest acquisition ever, unlocking the buying power, data infrastructure, and full-funnel capabilities of a group responsible for $70B+ in annual media billings, while preserving the commerce-first approach that defines Flywheel's work.
Today, Flywheel is the market leader in driving incremental sales and market share for clients through its proprietary Flywheel Commerce Cloud (FCC) platform, combining retail operations and media execution in a single, integrated system. Flywheel's client services teams operate as full-funnel commerce consultants, ensuring that retail fundamentals and media investment work in concert to deliver measurable business outcomes across every retailer in a client's portfolio.
