Founded in 1981 with Apple as our first client, Resource/ Ammirati is known for building brands and driving innovation in a digital world. Our history is distinguished by a rich tradition of thought leadership, including authoring the book The OPEN Brand, which provided marketers with a playbook for navigating the “always on,” technology-inspired and consumer-driven OPEN era.
Our capability first expanded in April 2014 through the merger of two firms: Resource and NY-based creative agency Ammirati. This pairing fused Resource’s expertise in digital brand building and ecommerce with Ammirati’s expertise in shaping brands at their foundation, through identity creation, packaging and retail support.
IBM acquired Resource/Ammirati in February 2016 as part of a collaborative mission to use creativity and technology to make anything possible for clients.
Resource/Ammirati is operating as a subsidiary of IBM and is aligned with the IBM Interactive Experience (IBM iX) group. The IBM iX group’s focus is on creating powerful consumer experiences that drive action. We are now part of a group of collaborative digital design studios in North America and across the globe.
