    Walz Tetrick Advertising Acquires InQuest Marketing

    Kansas City advertising agency Walz Tetrick Advertising announced today that it is acquiring InQuest Marketing. When the acquisition is finalized on January 1, 2023, Walz Tetrick will have nearly 100 employees and more than $125 million in projected revenue. All jobs at both agencies will remain intact and the combined company will continue adding talent to the collective team.

Prior to joining Walz Tetrick, Katy spent over two decades working her way through the ranks in local and national broadcast sales and business development. Her work has received recognition and awards from Radio Ink Magazine, Kansas City Media Mix and Ingram’s “Forty Under 40.” She developed key strategies that repeatedly helped turn small businesses into market leaders. Her leadership contributions have driven bottom-line growth through numerous acquisitions and mergers. Outside of the office, Katy has served on the board of directors for medical and educational foundations, as well as the Chairman’s Circle for the American Cancer Society.

Charlie became the sole owner of Walz Tetrick at the age of 27 and has been going strong for the last 30 years. Charlie has made it his goal to instill an agency philosophy of treating each client account with the creativity, innovation and financial accountability to help our partners reach a new, better, more prosperous destination. Charlie is extremely active in the Kansas City community and has lent marketing expertise and business acumen to many nonprofit boards and state-level task forces, including Young Entrepreneurs Organization, Heart of America Boy Scouts (Council President), The American Royal (Chairman of the Board of Governors 2021, Chairman previous), Advertising Federation of Kansas City (AAFKC), American Association of Advertising Agencies (Board of Governors), Kansas Works State Board (Gubernatorial Appointee) and the Governor’s Economic Council (Gubernatorial Appointee).

Bryan’s category expertise ranges from retail, telecom, CPG and casual dining to automotive aftermarket, destination/entertainment, financial services, healthcare and senior living. When Bryan’s not hammering out powerful brand strategies, you’ll find him banging the drums in a rock & blues band.

In fact, the word “challenge” lights a fire inside her. And she’s built an impressive track record of turnarounds, new launches and next-level growth working directly for companies and organizations as well as ad agencies. Brenda’s diverse experience includes digital and traditional marketing campaigns, custom product development, consumer research and recruitment/team building. She’s equally comfortable thinking strategically and drilling down to deliver individual tactics. Brenda has been awarded and honored for sales promotion kits, new brand launches, consumer marketing campaigns and cause marketing/PR. Brenda supports causes that help vulnerable children and animals, including Head Start and Midwest Animal ResQ.

Jeff’s creativity and results-oriented approach to the craft help our clients change perceptions, inspire action and enhance relationships with their audiences. His colleagues like to say that he “starts with the end in sight,” always remembering that the ultimate goal is to deliver on the client’s business goals. From branding campaigns, TV, radio and digital to outdoor boards, corporate videos and mailers, Jeff always keeps one eye on the marketing and the other on the brand. He encourages his teams to find fresh ways to make emotional connections that stimulate action and long-term loyalty. Jeff’s 30 years as a copywriter and creative director have allowed him the opportunity to work on every category, industry or advertising medium you can think of. At Walz Tetrick, he’s driven the creative strategy behind brand identity work for the Kansas City Royals, 4INFO, Valley Hope, American Royal, Olathe Health, PKD Foundation and many others.

    With more than 25 years of experience in media planning and negotiation, Blair thoroughly understands individual market demographics and how to reach audiences. He is a firm believer in the importance of using media in ways that are just as creative and attention-getting as the advertising messages themselves. Blair is the architect of our media planning and buying department, and he built it with the goals of creativity, maximum efficiency and excellence firmly in mind. Hands-on with every client, you might find him preparing channel recommendations for a QSR client one day and entertaining new promotional options for casino clients the next. Blair has worked extensively with spot markets as well as national media planning and buying. From product placement to the latest in digital opportunities, Blair’s integrated media strategies produce phenomenal results. Under Blair’s leadership, Walz Tetrick has earned a reputation as a regional media leader, winning Kansas City Media Agency of the Year in 2013, 2015 and 2018, and Best Campaign in 2017 and 2021.

    Gabe leads our dynamic and fast-growing digital media team. A digital enthusiast who’s as competitive as they come, Gabe is passionate about building relationships with clients and getting results. He has spent more than a decade in digital media planning, buying and reporting. His experience includes managing an in-house programmatic trading team, executing campaigns with industry-leading Martech and social platforms. He even built and launched a digital department from the ground up, then led it — and his clients — through years of impressive growth. Gabe is both visionary and hands-on, always on top of trends and adept at translating the technical for clients and colleagues alike. His deep experience in digital marketing crosses almost every industry, including finance, higher education, healthcare, B2B, automotive and travel. When he’s not strategizing for brands, Gabe is often on the golf course. An avid player, he’s also been a college coach.

With deep experience in internal and external communications, she’s responsible for our growing agency’s public relations and internal communications. Shawna has developed insightful leadership skills and is a strong team builder. While Shawna’s focus is continually improving agency operations, she always has her eye on client satisfaction. In her free time, she enjoys fostering kittens for Wayside Waifs, gardening, entertaining friends, biking and hiking.

As exacting and methodical as any CFO, Eric is also savvy and proactive, regularly asking questions and suggesting new ways of doing things. He wears many hats and is valued as much for his sense of humor as his calm advice. Navigating between strategy and details, Eric gives us the support and tools we need to do great work. His work as a controller for a software firm and city finance officer prepared him well for advertising’s quick pace. You won’t meet anyone more passionate about our business.
