Mateo’s salsa had relied on word of mouth, but after being acquired by Sauer Brands and expanding to sauces and seasonings, Mateo’s needed to build a real brand to stand out to a new audience.

We leaned into the consumer truth – fans of Mateo’s gush about their salsa experience all over the internet. We positioned the brand as so good, you’ll become obsessed.

We needed to create the first ever brand platform for Mateo's. Our approach? Turn all of these obsessed reviews into a business bullhorn. We listened to the fans and got to work, turning real reviews into social ads through narrated, mixed media animation. The platform, called “Real Obsession,” gave Mateo’s a way to talk about the product in a 100% authentic, entertaining way.
