Rick Ross Documentary. Six-time Grammy-nominated artist Rick Ross was a Checkers fan from an early age. In 2017, upon learning he planned to buy the Checkers near his childhood home, Fitzco partnered with Ross to create a documentary about his motivation, a hit song and music video called “Buy Back The Block” that featured Checkers in the lyrics and album art, and a Ross-inspired movement to invest in African-American neighborhoods. The effort led to 2 million hours of content consumed; was recognized by The New York Times, MTV, BET, Rolling Stone, Spin, and XXL; and won two Cannes Lions.
