About
“What helps people helps business.”
No matter how much we’ve evolved over the years, we’ve never lost sight of what, for us, is the plainest truth in the world: Clients grow their business by creating value for the people they serve. We solve human problems by unlocking what already exists in a brand’s DNA. The result: experiences that move at the speed of culture and brands that stand the test of time.
Helping people has paid off.
We are a 2023 Ad Age A-List Agency Standout and a Campaign Agency Performance Review winner for Creative Breakthrough, High-Value Wins and Inclusive Workplace. In 2022, we were the #1 Most Awarded Agency in the World, recognized as Agency of the Year by Clio Awards, The One Show, D&AD, and 4A’s; #1 Network of the Year by 4A’s and The One Show; and 2nd Most Effective Network by Effie Awards. We’re proud to have been awarded over 400+ prestigious global awards over the last two years and seven Cannes Grand Prix in the past decade.
What Leo started in 1935 – in a Chicago hotel suite with eight employees – has grown into an always-evolving agency with a full suite of integrated services and 56 offices across 41 countries.

Andrew Swinand
Chief Executive Officer, North America
Here’s the first thing you need to know about Andrew: He has founded nine successful startups and exited seven of them. And he left to do this all after getting to a comfortable point in corporate life (from joining the Army at 17 to landing in brand management at P&G and helping start their iVentures group to becoming president of Starcom MediaVest Group). Andrew’s startups—focused on marketing personalization and analytics—came out of his restless energy and his desire to lead the change in our industry. That same risk-taking, future-forward vision brought Andrew to the CEO role at Leo Burnett Group. Since taking the helm, Andrew has led the business transformation of both Leo Burnett Group and our clients by investing in data and technology while doubling down on creativity. -
Chaka Sobhani
Global Chief Creative Officer
In a career that has defied convention, Chaka has worked for some of the biggest brands and broadcasters worldwide. In fact, before joining the ad industry, Chaka set up ITV’s first in-house creative agency, during which time the network created its most successful global formats and content in The X Factor and Downton Abbey and won numerous BAFTAs and the Rose D’Or. Chaka became our global CCO after five years as our CCO of Leo Burnett London, where, among other accomplishments, she oversaw the evolution of the McDonald’s platform in the U.K. Chaka has been featured in Campaign’s Top 10 Creative Leaders. -
Britt Nolan
President and Chief Creative Officer
Britt joined the agency in 2009 as a copywriter with a passion for doing work that real people care about. At every step along the way, Britt has helped iconic brands form emotional connections that grow their businesses. He introduced the world to “Mayhem” for Allstate, launched #DoWhatYouCant for Samsung, invited America to “Drive a Firestone” and brought Coors Light some much-needed “Chill.” Britt’s work has earned 50+ Cannes Lions, along with awards from the Effies, D&AD, ADC, One Show, Clios, London International and more. In 2019, Britt was inducted into AAF’s Hall of Achievement. -
